Authorization and notice framework for consumer-report access.
Consumer reports may be requested only for a legally permitted purpose connected to the application, account review, fraud prevention, servicing, or collection.
The authorization should identify the requesting company and approved providers, the purpose, and how the report will be used.
A prequalification process may use a soft inquiry when supported by the provider. A later hard inquiry requires clear notice and appropriate authorization when applicable.
When a decision is based in whole or part on consumer-report information, required notices and source information must be delivered.
Customers may review reports and dispute inaccurate information with the reporting company and information furnisher. Contact compliance@silverrockusa.com for process questions.
